Twilight over the Lofoten Islands, Arctic Norway

Aug 3, 2018

Simply an epic day. We were driving back from a day hike we did in the mountains, only to glance over at the side of the road and see a small pod of Orcas (Killer Whales) playing right next to the shore. We immediately stopped the car and raced down to see them. They swam around in circles, like they were curious by us chasing after them on the near by rocks. The water was immediately deep, so they were able to get within 15 or so metres of us. This amazing little meet, lasted for about 45 minutes, and it’s a memory I’ll never forget.

This panorama I took after they finally went back out to sea, and twilight hit the archipelago. A really enchanting island group!
