Long exposure at Hallett Cove beach
The Adelaide metropolitan coastline happens to sit on the east side of the St Vincent gulf. Which means we are lucky enough to get sunsets over the ocean all year round. I live a couple of minutes from the beach, so when I’m in the mood for some photography, I’m always keeping an eye on the clouds in the sky. Hallett Cove beach is a local for me, and happens to have an interesting coastline with many photogenic rock and cliff formations.

Clint,
All your shots are truly inspiring. I particularly like the marine shots as I too live very near the sea. Can I ask a question of this one? Just curious, did you use an ND filter for this one? I have been trying to use them more lately and was wondering if you used them for this shot.
Keep up the great work. As I said TRULY INSPIRING!
Aloha,
Jim
Hi Jim,
First of all, let me say a huge thank you very much for following along. I really appreciate your kind words, and glad your enjoying the photos 🙂 As for your question, I’d dare say I did use an ND with this. Most of my seascapes shots will be a combination of a CP + ND. It’s a 4 stop ND that I use for 90% of my cases, as I find this works perfectly when combining with a CP. As the sun dips below the horizon and the light starts to fall, I find I can remove my ND and just keep the CP on to get nice exposure lengths.
Thanks once again,
Clint
