An evening at Tasman Lake, New Zealand

Feb 28, 2018

This recently formed lake in the Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park, was created in the 90s from the rapid retreat of the Tasman Glacier. What once was kilometres of solid ice, is now glacial melt water. A familiar scene across glaciers in modern times.

Regardless of the reminder of the unfortunate damage done by a warming climate, the scene was really beautiful, and the evening sky really put on a show for us. I ended up spending 3 nights in the Aoraki/Mount Cook NP, photographing the stunning landscapes.
